I was worried the band would leave a red mark on my newborn's head, but the nylon is so soft it doesn't dig in at all. It stretches enough to fit my toddler too, so I'm getting way more use out of it than I expected.
The stretchy nylon actually stays put without squeezing her head, and I love that the bow doesn't flop over her eyes during tummy time. Three weeks in and they still fit like day one.
